Full Day Hobart
After visiting the Constitution dock area, Salamanca Place and Battery Point, we pass through rural farming and grazing land, pausing briefly at the Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin, where we can observe first hand the manufacture of hand built wooden craft by master craftsman. Passing through the dry forest areas we arrive at the spectacular Tahune Forest Airwalk where we walk high above and through the tree tops some 20 metres above the forest floor. After lunch, take a stroll at river level through the Huon Pine Rain Forest Trail before returning to your hotel.
Full Day Port Arthur
We travel around the historic birthplace of this fascinating city - Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and Battery Point before arriving at the gateway to the Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas. Here Able Tasman’s 1642 expedition first set foot on this land, the first known Europeans to do so. We then make our way to Port Arthur, visiting the Tessellated Pavement which is a unique rock formation disappearing into the sea. After a light lunch our guide will personally escort you around the ruins of Port Arthur settlement telling you tales of the hardships suffered by the convicts.
Ormiston House
Ormiston House, one of Tasmania’s most magnificent stately homes, sits harbourside on 1.5 acres amidst gracious old trees and landscaped gardens and now exudes a graceful elegance. Beautiful guest rooms differ in décor and include today’s convenience and luxuries. The property includes a cellar to tempt the wine lover and a lounge bar in which to enjoy the choice . Guest’s History Gallery in the tower provides sensational views over the Harbour. Quietly attentive hosts ensure that your visit is special.
